Wash it and transfer it in a pressure cooker. Chana dal, which is shown here, looks just like yellow split peas but is quite different. Instructions to make Shahi Chana Dal:
- Wash the chana dal and pressure cook it by adding some salt and haldi powder untill 2 whistle comes.
- Now make a tadka.
- In a tadka pan add desi ghee after it gets heated add cumin seeds,heeng,bay leaf,cloves,cardamom and saute them for few sec.
- Now add chopped onions,ginger garlic paste,green chilli and fry them untill golden brown.
- Now add chopped capsicum and cook them for 1 min.
- Then add chopped tomato and cook them until oil leaves from the corners.
- Now add red chilli powder,garam masala and mix well..
- After that mix everything pour cooked chana dal into this tadka and sprinkle some coriander leaves.Give them a final mix.
- Keep like this for 1 min.then serve hot with roti or rice.
- Enjoy as it feels like restaurant style dal.
